The Challenge – Ski your limit! 2019/20
The Skicircus challenges its guests to take on THE ski circuit of the winter!
The slogan is “ski your limit”, and describes one of the most challenging ski circuits of the winter. The statistics speak for themselves: 65 km of skiing, 32 lifts, and 12,400 vertical metres. Fit skiers can complete the Skicircus circuit in the “Home of Lässig” in about 7 hours (with no lunch break planned in). Are you up for the challenge?
Thanks to the sheer distances involved, “The Challenge” joins the top of the list of famous ski circuits in the Alps, putting others such as the “Sellaronda”, the “Weißer Ring”, and the “Königstour” in its shadow. This demanding ski circuit takes you once round one of the most varied and extensive ski areas in Austria and you need to allow about 7 hours to complete it. This challenge is certainly an athletic achievement in itself. Thoughts of long breaks at any of the many rustic huts en route, or resting at the peaks or relaxing and sunbathing are better left for another day; there are 32 lifts to go on between Saalbach Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn on this ski marathon.
Tip: All lift offices have a folder (Ski Map) describing the Skicircus circuit in detail, as well as all the other ski circuits. This should help make sure you stay on track and don’t cover any height or pistes that you don’t need to!
Competition
To create a measurable experience for “Slope Hunters” and “Endurance Skiers”, its possible to track the circuit and personal experience on the skiline.cc website. Here the meters in height, lifts and piste kilometres are saved as height chart and might become a challenge for the next contender.
Every successful “challenger”, who can display the well-deserved “The Challenge” badge on their Skiline print, will receive a small price at the main cash-points. Prove is the first original printed height chart that you can get at the Skiline terminals at the G1 Bernkogel lift, H1 Kohlmais lift, A1 Schattberg X-press, I1 Schönleiten lift, B1 12er KOGEL, D1 Reiterkogel lift, A9 Unterschwarzach lift, L1 Asitz lift, L3 Steinberg lift or F1 Streuböden.
Among all participants, that register on skiline.cc and are listed in the ranking, three main prices will also be randomly drawn at the end of the season:
1st prize: 1-week holiday in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn including 2 ski passes.
2nd prize: Weekend holiday in in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn including 2 ski passes.
3rd prize: 6-day ski pass for the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn
